EMBRACING YOUR NATURAL BEAUTY

For centuries women of color have battled with the distinction of what signifies true beauty in their communities, both psychologically and emotionally.

With the emphasis of hair in not only the black community, but overall in our society, many women of color struggle to maintain their natural tresses and give into conforming to what is perceived to be as societal acceptance.

This piece takes a look into the lives of young women from different walks and their struggle to maintain their tresses, whether natural or processed.
